So we didn't get tickets to Shakespeare in the Park because Tonye had the bright idea to try to get tickets over the internet. Everyone knows the best way to get tickets is by standing on line early in the morning for hours in hopes of getting a ticket. I sold a diabetic juice before, because we were waiting in line and he almost went into sugar shock. I know an opportunity when I see it. Anyway, we are going to try again for tickets, next Saturday. One of us is going to do the internet while the other waits on line. I've never had to wait on line by myself before. It looks like I will be the one doing it. It will be my first time, I will take my camera. Something interesting always happens on line. Get this, the tickets are FREE, but yet, people end up selling them for money. I've been tempted in the past to sell my ticket. I didn't, because having a Shakespeare in the Park ticket is a must have.
Good news, I'm hanging out with my home girl Clarissa tomorrow. We are going to her friend's recording studio. That should be fun. I haven't been inside a recording studio since 2001 or 2002. I forgot the year I was in the singing group. I know I was about 19-20. I didn't do well in the studios because my mind was always somewhere else and I kept sneaking in the lyrics. Maybe her friend will let us have some fun, recording. I think Clarissa sings. Maybe for fun, I will do some back up for her. I don't know if we are going to a club afterwards, but I don't have club attire. I just packed a pair of black tights, "pretty woman" hooker black leather boots and a few different shirts to try on. I know nothing about clubbing. I will dance, but won't drink. Good thing about me, I don't need to drink to have fun.
If there are pictures from tomorrow or videos...I will upload. Hanging out with Clarissa should be fun. She is cool peoples.
So I have pictures of the cast getting to know each other. Simone just came back from New Zealand the day of the shoot, so I am pretty sure she was tired, but she was a trooper. I am very proud of her. It's good to have good and supportive friends. I bonded with Clarissa and Simone right from the start and besides working with them, I consider them my friends. I see us hanging out even when there is not a camera involved. The whole cast is what this series is about, whether it has substance or not. I skimmed the topics with this show b/c I didn't want it to be too deep. In the future I will create shows and short films with darker subjects. For now, I just want to have fun. Simone brought me back a gift from New Zealand. I love it, when I get a nice place, I will put it up where people can see it. I'm not a big fan of dolls, and I hate teddy bears, but this gift is a collectors item, so it's great. I love anything that comes from outside of America. It makes it more a must have, because you can't get it here. We were waiting for our guy to come, so we fooled around, talked about life, love and relationships.
I would like to say that I've officially finished editing Matchmaker Cafe and it should be on websites this week. I have to make sure that the show is in the right format. I used a DIVX software trial to create the show. I love the program so much that I plan on buying the full software version. It's easy to use and you don't have to read instructions. I am a pretty smart chick and usually figure out application within an hour. Most times less. The editing was tedious but it's something that all filmmakers should be experienced in. Once you have good software, it gets easier.
I did not get all fancy with the first show by adding theme music and credits. I promise by the second show, not only will there be special effects, credits...there will be theme music for the show. My sister is a great composer and several years back we wrote a song using my guitar that would be great for the show. No, I do not play the guitar. I just owned one for a long time. I will give it to my sister if she wants it. It kinda broke when I was moving to one of my many locations. I will try to recruit Clarissa, my friend and one of the actresses on the show to sing the theme song. If for some reason she is unable to do it, it looks like I will be singing the theme music for the show. Yes...I might be singing. Cover your ears people.
So I've finally found a program that might actually allow me to edit my work the way I want. I am test driving it today and if it works out, I will get the full version. Window Movie maker is good for editing work because it's easy but for some reason everytime I put my MPEG-2 clips in, it crashes. I've had a problem with this software but I'm hoping it's because I didn't have the right decoder. I installed the MPEG decoder today so I am hoping that I'm on the journey of finally editing my first project. I am spending all day today working on my project. I want to have everything finished by tomorrow.
